Dharini Bathia
Originally from India, Dharini earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from Mount Carmel College, and her Master’s degree in International Relations from Jadavpur University.
Subsequently she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University, MD. Prior to joining our department in Fall 2019 as a Ph.D. student, Dharini worked at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. for three years.
During her time at the World Bank, Dharini gained valuable experience working for regional, sectoral and corporate divisions of the Bank. Her core interest lies in development economics, development finance, issues of financial inclusion and role of women in financial decision making.
