Jessica Anderson is a professor of the practice managing the graduate capstone program.  Jess is currently serving her second term on the Chapel Hill Town Council, having previously served as Mayor Pro Tempore from 2017-2019. Prior to joining the program, she was a senior policy Analyst at the SERVE Center at UNC Greensboro where she conducted needs assessments for school districts in North Carolina, administered program evaluations at the state level, and provided technical assistance to communities around the country working to end youth homelessness. Jess is a North Carolina Education Policy Fellowship Program graduate, has volunteered for the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate Program and serves on a variety of town boards and commissions. She has a B.A. in Journalism with a Psychology minor from Northeastern University and a Master’s in Public Policy (concentration in social policy) from the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University.
