Undergraduate students will find the following forms and worksheets helpful in creating work plans and field concentrations in the Public Policy Major. Please direct any questions about these forms to the Student Services Manager.

Major worksheets allow you to easily view and track progress towards the completion of the PLCY major.

Elective and Concentration Form
If you would like to receive elective credit in the public policy major for a UNC course that is not already approved (the list of approved courses is available in the Catalog), you must complete the course approval form. You can also use this form to request approval for a concentration in Public Policy.
Independent Study Proposals
In order to be enrolled in an independent study, you must work with a faculty adviser to complete this form, which serves as the course learning contract. The Director of Undergraduate Studies must approve your learning contract in order for you to enroll in an independent study course.

Internship Application Form
Public Policy majors or minors who complete a internship focused on academically relevant policy research can enroll in PLCY 293. PLCY 293 fulfills the IDEAs in Action “High-Impact Experience” requirement but does not count as elective credit toward the Public Policy major or minor. Interested students should review the PLCY 293 application and PLCY 293 syllabus. Please note that you must submit your application before your internship begins or before the last day of course registration, whichever comes first. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Anna Krome-Lukens prior to the start of the internship. Approval is required for enrollment in PLCY 293.
