Hannah Nelson

Hannah was a graduate student in the department of Public Policy with a concentration in environmental and human welfare. She has roots in the Eastern and Piedmont regions of North Carolina. During her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Hannah pursued a major in Public Policy and a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, which allowed her to explore various fields such as climate change, sustainability, and gender inequality. Hannah has worked on research projects about how representation in elected officials motivates political participation, and research about policies that will help close the wealth gap for communities of color. In pursuing her MPP, Hannah’s primary field interests were focused on sustainable development and climate change mitigation polices.
