Payton Belvin

Payton Belvin is a student in the Master of Public Policy class of 2025 cohort on the policy design and innovation track. For her MPP summer internship, she worked full-time as a policy intern for the Ranked Choice Voting Resource Center.
Prior to joining the 2025 MPP cohort, Payton obtained her Bachelor of Arts from UNC Chapel Hill in public policy with a minor in philosophy, politics, and economics. During undergrad, Payton was a member of Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, a volunteer shift leader for Carolina Cupboard, and served as the communications director for the Black Pre-Law Association. Additionally, during undergrad Payton worked as a US Congressional Intern with the Victory Institute for a summer.
Payton is passionate about housing policy, education policy, welfare policy, and social justice. Further, Payton is very passionate and interested in the legal discipline and plans to attend law school after obtaining her MPP.
