Iheoma Iruka named 2023 APA Fellow
September 5, 2023
Research Professor of Public Policy and Founding Director of the Equity Research Action Coalition, Iheoma Iruka, has been named a fellow by the American Psychological Association. She has been elected to the Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice (Division 37).
“While being named a 2023 APA Fellow means my work in collaboration with many has had a national impact on the field, this award is a great reminder for me to not be deterred from my focus on antiracist research, practice, and policymaking for the optimal development of Black children and other children from marginalized communities,” said Iheoma. “I will continue to ensure that racism is explicitly named, described, and dismantled, and the cultural strengths of minoritized children and families are centered.”
Congratulations, Iheoma!
