Vivian Limbe

Vivian Limbe is a PhD student with over a decade of experience working with the government of Malawi as a Principal Social Welfare Officer. He has been instrumental in implementing a range of social welfare and social protection programs, including the design and administration of cash transfer initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing social equity.

Limbe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship, which brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of public policy. His research interests focus on the intersections of cash transfer programs and the dynamics of human trafficking. Specifically, in how cash transfer initiatives can be leveraged to prevent trafficking in persons by addressing economic vulnerabilities and strengthening social safety nets in vulnerable populations. By examining the role of these programs in preventing trafficking, his study aims to contribute to the development of robust, evidence-based public policies that address both poverty and human trafficking, particularly in the context of Malawi and other developing countries.
