Sofia Hines, a native of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, studied for a B.A. in Public Policy with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to beginning the MPP, she served as an intern or researcher for organizations including the Southern Environmental Law Center, the U.S. Department of State, and the Center for International Policy. Sofia’s policy interests are primarily social, with a focus on environmental racism and economic security. She is most passionate about leveraging policy to address the needs of communities seeking well-being and justice.
