Ameena Hester

Ameena Hester, with a Bachelor’s degree from UNC, where she a majored in Public Policy and minored in Environmental Justice and Data Science, has examined disparate health outcomes in Black farmers, environmental justice implications of floodplain buyouts, and spatial data’s impact on international oceans governance. In her career, she seeks to integrate the role of sovereignty in policy solutions that mitigate the impacts of climate change, disease persistence and environmental injustices to improve health outcomes in Black, Indigenous, migrant, and displaced communities.
