Callan Hazeldine

Callan Hazeldine was a graduate student in the Master of Public Policy program from Charlotte, NC, with a concentration in health policy, bioethics, and human rights. He received his B.A. in Public Policy from UNC-Chapel Hill in the spring of 2022 with a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) and Phi Beta Kappa honors. Throughout his undergraduate career, he centered his academic pursuits around immigration and the intersection of housing access on health outcomes.

Prior to his start with the MPP, Callan worked for the Hussman School of Media and Journalism as a research intern for the Center on Innovation and Sustainability in Local Media. His research covered a wide variety of topics – the expansion of “news desserts” throughout the pandemic, increased unionization in North Carolina, and a census on diversity and equity within the media space.
