Johnathan Conzelmann is a PhD student interested in the economics of education and the labor market in the United States. Johnathan’s research seeks to tie together these two domains and to quantify the effects of public policy on the educational choices and outcomes of individuals. Johnathan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Butler University and a master’s degree from North Carolina State University in Higher Education Administration. Johnathan is a recipient of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Prior to entering the PhD program, Johnathan worked five years as a researcher at RTI International. His work was primarily with the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), for whom he led variable creation on the 2015-16 National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS:16) and served as an expert on the integration of administrative data into education-related studies.
