EPIC Remote Learning Survey
The Education Policy Initiative at Carolina (EPIC), in partnership with the State Board of Education (SBE) and the Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), is conducting a statewide retrospective survey to examine schooling experiences during the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 academic years after schools closed due to COVID-19. The survey aims to identify successful remote learning approaches, key barriers to student engagement and the delivery of remote learning, and other areas of concern where more support is needed. This study also purposes to understand how to best meet a child’s academic and social-emotional needs through remote learning and student support. As such, the survey will be extended to LEA administrators, school administrators, teachers, school counselors, social workers, psychologists, and instructional facilitators who were employed by a school or district in North Carolina during the 2019-2020 or 2020-21 school years and participated in remote learning or student support. Instructions and link for the survey will be delivered by email with the subject line “NC Remote Learning and Student Support Survey”, and from “NC Remote Learning Survey”.
