Highest Honors (*best thesis)

Aditi Adhikari

Aditi is a Morehead Cain Scholar from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Economics and a minor in Chemistry. During her time at UNC, she has been heavily involved with The Community Empowerment Fund and the initiative to bring an Asian American Center to UNC’s campus. After graduation, she will begin her career in management consulting with Bain & Company in Atlanta, Georgia.

Lorcan Gearoid Farrell

Lorcan is from Cary, NC graduating with degrees in both Public Policy and Business Administration. His policy interests are focused on labor and economics. Outside of class, he managed the UNC Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic Football team.

Valerie Lundeen*

Valerie is from Chicago, Illinois, and is graduating with majors in Public Policy and Economics and a minor in Journalism. While at Carolina, she worked as an Advocate at the Community Empowerment Fund. After graduation, Valerie will continue her public policy career in Washington, D.C. She would like to thank her family and friends for their unconditional support.

Sarah Mackenzie

Sarah was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and attended High School at the United World College of the Adriatic in Italy. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Global Studies, and a minor in Arabic. During her time at UNC, she has been heavily involved with the Campus Y committee, Criminal Justice Awareness and Action, and the Community Empowerment Fund. After graduation, Sarah hopes to continue her career in criminal justice and poverty alleviation.

Anwesha Nandi*

Anwesha Nandi is a recent graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. Her research interests lie at the intersection of population health and public policy. She has worked previously in HIV/AIDS and community-engaged research. She looks forward to examining the impacts of COVID-19 on health and improving the lives of North Carolinians across the state. In the future, she hopes to bridge the relationship between health care systems and governments to improve quality of life.

Lucy Russell

Lucy is from Raleigh and majored in Public Policy with a minor in Russian Culture. At Carolina, she supported qualitative research on hurricane recovery in rural NC and was honored to receive the Policy Department’s first Thomas Ross Fellowship while working at the Public School Forum. After being inspired by internships in the North Carolina and United States Senates, Lucy hopes to pursue a career in public service at the intersection of policymaking and education.

 

Honors

Rachel Beardsley

Rachel Beardsley is majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Geography. She has greatly enjoyed volunteering as a research assistant with the Water Institute. She plans to get a Masters in Global Public Health after graduation.

Peter Foster

Peter is graduating with a Major in Public Policy and Minor in Dramatic Arts, concentrating in Costume Design. In his time at UNC he has worked at the college radio station, Kenan Theatre Company, and on Capitol Hill. He would like to thank his family, friends, professors, and relentlessly patient thesis advisors.

Jacob Henkels

Jacob was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. During his time at Carolina, he was a member and captain on the UNC fencing team. After graduation, he will go to graduate school for data science and work as a research assistant in Washington DC.

Susanna LaRochelle

Susanna was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is graduating with dual degrees in Public Policy and Economics. During her time at UNC, she was a member of the Varsity swim team and was involved at the Community Empowerment Fund and the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. She also studied in Amman, Jordan and interned with the Jordanian National Red Crescent Society. In the future, she plans to attend law school. She would like to thank her grandparents, parents, and siblings for their encouragement and support throughout the last 4 years.

Allie Omens

Allie is graduating with degrees in Public Policy and Environmental Studies. Throughout her time at Carolina, Allie participated in leadership roles for the Co-Ed Environmental Honors Society and Carolina Thrift. Additionally, she received the Three Zeros Leadership Award in 2019 for organizing UNC’s first Accelerating the Circular Economy conference. After graduation, Allie will continue to show others the importance of innovating away from our current economic model of take-make-waste.

Emily Parker

Emily is from Wake Forest, North Carolina. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Economics and a minor in Education. During her time at UNC, she has been heavily involved with Splash at UNC-Chapel Hill, an educational enrichment organization for high school students in North Carolina. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in education policy research and advocacy.

Abigail Lee Abt

Nesreen Bassam Abu Khalaf

Nesreen Abu Khalaf is from Lexington, NC and will be graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Information Science. On campus, Nesreen was heavily involved with the Bonner Leaders Program through the Campus Y,  through which she spent all four years engaging in consistent service and social justice leadership development. Nesreen also co-authored a policy brief on applying a racial equity lens to federal hunger policies and programs published through Bread for the World Institute. Nesreen won the 2020 Davis Projects for Peace Award for her proposal of a civic technology leadership development program in Amman, JO, although the project has been halted due to COVID-19. 

Shreeva Adhikari

Shreeva was born in Kathmandu, Nepal and is from Morrisville, NC. She double majored in Public Policy with a concentration in health policy and Sociology with a minor in Social Economic and Justice. During her time at UNC, Shreeva completed an internship at a local law non-profit law office and interned at American Institutes for Research. She has accepted a full-time offer in Chicago, IL starting in July, returning to AIR before continuing her higher education career in public health.

Zoie Albrecht

Zoie was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina and is receiving a double major in Public Policy and Human Development and Family Studies. While at UNC, she has been a proud member of APPLES Service Learning, The Community Empowerment Fund, and Civics in the Triangle. After graduation, Zoie plans to pursue a Masters in Science in Education at Johns Hopkins University through the Urban Teachers teacher residency program in Washington, D.C.

Delancy Allred

Delancy is beyond excited to join Teach for America and teach special education in Baltimore, before pursuing a PHD in education policy. During her Junior year, Delancy participated in the UNC in DC Honors Program and gained a passion for disability rights while working with the Autism Society of America. Delancy would like to thank her family for all of the love and support, as well as the Blue Sky Scholar Program and Erskine Bowles for financial support.

Calissa Andersen

Calissa is from Salisbury, North Carolina. She is graduating with a double-major in Public Policy and Sociology.

Baileigh Baker

Baileigh is from Cary, North Carolina. She is graduating with a major in Public Policy, a minor in Social and Economic Justice, and a minor in Spanish for the Business Professions. During her time at UNC, Baileigh interned with the North Carolina Division of Health and Human Services. In the future she hopes to continue her work with the government.

Gretchen is from High Point, North Carolina and is receiving her degree in Public Policy and a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences. During her time at Carolina she served as the Public Policy Major Union’s President, as a volunteer at the Community Empowerment Fund, and swam on the club swim team.

Ajia Caldwell

Ajia is minoring in Health & Society and has an interest in Public Health. She is involved with organizations, such as Healthy Girls Save the World and the CDC Undergraduate Public Health Scholars (CUPS) Program. Ajia is interested in ensuring health equity for African American women, especially as it pertains to sexual and reproductive health. After graduation, Ajia will take time off before pursuing a Master in Public Health degree to work at a local community health center.

Xzavian Carter

Xzavian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy with a minor in Social and Economic Justice. While at Carolina, he has served in leadership for The Office for Diversity & Inclusion, The Office of Ethics & Policy, and The Mighty Mu Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He also worked in the Northside community as a volunteer with the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History. Xzavian dedicates this degree to his late great-grandmother Viola Carter, late Uncle Rufus Carter and all the young black Dreamers hustling, creating, and inventing a way to beat the odds. The Marathon Continues.

Angela Chin

Angela Chin is a Carolina Scholar from Prince George’s County, Maryland. She serves as the Collegiate Member of the National Scholarship and Standards Committee of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and is a proud initiate of the Kappa Omicron Chapter. Angela participated in study abroad programs in Ecuador, Jordan, Palestine, and Washington D.C. and is graduating from the Honors Program with a second major in Global Studies and an Arabic minor. Angela would like to dedicate this degree to her grandparents, Benjamin and Shirley Marable.

Ursula Chioke

Ursula majored in Public Policy with a minor in Anthropology. During undergrad Ursula interned at various organizations as an research intern. She hopes to do work with marginalized communities after undergrad and enjoy the adventure we all call life.

Carly Christensen

Carly Elise Christensen is a Public Policy major with a Health Policy concentration and a Health and Society minor. She studied global health policy abroad in Thailand and Switerzland focused, along with working at various internships focused on corporate social responsibility. Upon graduation, Carly is planning on attending law school after a gap year.

Robert Patrick Clifford

Patrick served as an undergraduate teaching assistant with UNC’s Great Decisions lecture series, and as the Editor-in-Chief of the Carolina International Relations Association’s ‘Internationalist Journal of Foreign Affairs.’ After graduation, he will be heading to Sri Lanka to work as a Peace Corps volunteer.

Peter Cohen

Peter grew up in Chapel Hill, NC. He is graduating with majors in Public Policy and Food Studies and a minor in environmental science. While at UNC, Peter served on the cabinet of APPLES Service-Learning and was the Vice President of Epsilon Eta, the environmental honors society. He would like to thank his friends, family, and professors for all of their support over the past four years.

Shawen Conway

Shawen Conway is a Public Policy and Global Studies double major with a Business Administration minor. During her time at Carolina, Shawen was a Morehead-Cain scholar and a Buckley Public Service Scholar, and spent her summers working with nonprofits and venture philanthropy funds. Upon graduating she will be moving to Atlanta to work for a brand-focused consulting firm, and hopes to spent the rest of her career in Corporate Social Responsibility roles.

Abby Ruth Cooper

Abby is from Ithaca, NY. She is graduating with double majors in public policy and women’s and gender studies and a minor in philosophy, politics, and economics. During her time at UNC, Abby worked for three years at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center and studied in Washington, DC for a semester. She hopes to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector working on social and economic reform issues.

Hannah Elizabeth Cross

Hailing from a small, coastal town, Hannah came to UNC eager to learn. Initially a nursing major, Hannah soon switched over to double major in political science and public policy. Later she would add a history minor. Hannah is graduating with distinction and is currently working as a legal assistant at a law firm in Raleigh. After a gap year (or two), she plans to pursue law school with aspirations of becoming a capital defense attorney for the indigent.

Samantha is from Julian, North Carolina. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Political Science and a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.

Kaitlyn Davis

Kaitlyn is a Public Policy and History double major. She served as president of UNC’s chapter of the international music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, and has been a member of the Marching Tar Heels for four years. In the Fall, she plans on attending New York University to pursue a Master of Science in Public Policy.

Annie Dempsey

Annie is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is graduating with a major in Public Policy and a minor in Business Administration. While at Carolina she has been a proud member of Phi Mu Fraternity and an active leader of UNC Special Olympics. She would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her every step of the way.

Joseph DiGiovanni

Joseph DiGiovanni is also majoring in History and was selected to attend the tenth annual Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit in February. He is hopefully pursuing a job in the policy field, focusing on research and analysis.

William Dixon

Caroline was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is graduating with a major in Public Policy and a double minor in Geography and History. During her time at UNC, she partnered with a local family through Refugee Community Partnership and studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland. She will pursue graduate school in the future and would like to thank her friends and family who filled her Carolina experience with love and support.

Douglas Dubrowski

Phyllis Elliott

Phyllis Elliott is from Winston Salem, North Carolina and she is receiving a degree in Public Policy with a minor in Chemistry. While at UNC Phyllis started an organization called “STEMinority” which is a Saturday STEM enrichment program for local youth with the purpose of increasing diversity in STEM. After graduation Phyllis will attend graduate school and pursue a career in healthcare. She would like to thank her family, friends, mentors and professors for their continued support.

Coleman Evans

Coleman Evans is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She is graduating from UNC with a degree in Public Policy and History. During her time at Carolina, she participated in the Seminar on Public Policy and Global Affairs in Washington, DC, where she interned for an educational justice organization. From that experience, and following graduation, she is headed back to DC where she will teach elementary school.

Sarah Ford

Sarah is from Apex, North Carolina. She is graduating with a major in Public Policy, concentrating in Education policy, and minors in Education and History. During her time at UNC, she has been involved with her sorority and has held several education and public policy-related internships. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching before going on to become a high school teacher.

Uriah Ford

Uriah was born and raised in Henderson, North Carolina. He majored in Public Policy with a Spanish Minor for the Medical Professions. While at Carolina he was a member of the Men of Color Initiative and a Youth Ambassador for No Kid Hungry. He would like to thank his family for all of their love and support and he’d like to thank his friends for all of the memories from these past 4 years.

Amelia Fox is a senior from Greensboro, NC. In addition to her Public Policy major, she completed a major in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. She hopes to pursue a career in political communications. Amelia has loved her time at UNC and will cherish all her memories, especially winning the 2017 Basketball National Championship!

Kaitlin is a public policy and political science major with a history minor from Fairfax Virginia. While at Carolina, Kaitlin was an Admissions Ambassador, a Global Gap Year- Bridge Year Fellow, and presented research at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women as a Women NC Fellow. She graduates as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and will attend Harvard, Stanford, or Yale Law School in the fall.

Isabel Ghica: I have spent my time at Carolina pursuing public health research and developing my health policy interests. The UNC Public Policy department has helped me find my passions for women’s health and overall health education for students. I want to give a special thank you to Jeff Summerlin-Long for teaching my first policy class, which ultimately convinced me to add the public policy major and proactively engage my interests in public health. This department has truly opened my eyes to why public policy is so vital to our nation’s wellbeing – thank you! 

Julia Gillies

Julia is graduating with a major in Public Policy and a minor in Computer Science. She has been an active member of Chapel Hill’s community and the organizations UNC has to offer, one being Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. She wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her through school and life, and that she could not have done it without them.

Destiny Guzman is a senior Public Policy major with a socio economic justice minor from Charlotte, NC. During her time at UNC, she was a Robert E. McNair Scholar, an Upward Bound Instructor and volunteered for advocacy groups such Students for Education Reform and The Marian Cheek Jackson Center. She is also a proud member of the Kappa Omicron chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and worked for diversity and inclusion programs such as Carolina United and Spark during her time at UNC. Destiny looks forward to starting a career in consulting and policy research, and as a first-generation student would like to dedicate her degree to her parents, Robert and Daphne, her grandmothers and Eric Jenkins for their support.

Grayson Hahn is graduating with degrees in Public Policy and Economics. During his time at UNC he participated in multiple student theatre organizations and worked as a Research Assistant in the Political Science Department with Dr. Pamela Conover. He will begin earning his Master of Public Policy at the University of Southern California this fall.

Joey Hannum

Joey double-majored in Political Science and Public Policy and was involved with the Young Democrats as the organization’s Secretary and Communications Director. During his time at Carolina, he worked at the Public International Law & Policy Group, and he served as a Regional Campus Lead for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign. After graduation, Joey plans on moving to Washington, DC, to work in political communications and public affairs consulting.

Carla Hardy

Carla was born and raised in Kitty Hawk and is receiving a BA in Public Policy with a minor in Social and Economic Justice. While in college, she has been an active member of the UNC student theatre community as well as working on statewide political races. She will be moving to Washington DC in the fall to continue her work in democratic politics and public policy. She would like to thank her loving friends and family for their continued support through her time at Carolina.

Luke Hargraves

Luke is from Irvington, New York and is receiving a double major in Public Policy and Music with a minor in Business Administration. He plans on becoming a high school teacher after graduation.

Jinna Hatfield

Jinna was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and grew up in Massachusetts. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Women’s and Gender Studies, as well as a minor in Social and Economic Justice. During her time at UNC-Chapel Hill, she worked as an Orientation Leader and was involved in multiple dance organizations. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and establish a career in higher education and student affairs.

Ying He

Ying He is a student from China, double majoring in Public Policy and Economics. She is thankful for the people, the lectures, and the opportunities in the department! Ms.He’s favorite quote is “Stay Hungry and Stay Foolish” by Steve Jobs. 

Rebecca Heilman

Becca is from Chapel Hill, NC and is double majoring in Public Policy and Political Science with a minor in Social and Economic Justice. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in city and regional planning.

Claire Hernandez

Claire was born and raised in Hillsborough, North Carolina. She is majoring in Public Policy with a minor in Health & Society. Claire dedicated four years to the UNC marching band and was a vice president for the women’s music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota. In the future, she plans to pursue a career working in maternal and infant health policy.

Jessica Hernandez

Jessica is from Charlotte, NC and majored in Public Policy with a minor in Health and Society. During her time at Carolina, she completed an internship at the UNC Office of Ethics and Policy that gave her real-life policy experience. She hopes to continue her career in the healthcare industry using the skills she gained through her policy courses. She would like to thank her friends, family, and professors who have supported her throughout her time at Carolina.

Susannah Horton

Susannah was born and raised in Mount Ulla, North Carolina and is receiving a double major in Public Policy and History. While at Carolina she has worked for over two years at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA as a youth counselor. She would like to thank her family and friends for all their support and encouragement. Noah Stockton Howell

Gabrielle Katherine Hubert

Gabrielle Hubert is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and English. She is an Honors Carolina laureate and Carolina Research Scholar, and while at UNC she conducted social sciences research through the Burch and SURF fellowship programs. After graduation she will work at a higher education analytics firm in the Triangle. 

Olivia Huckel

Olivia Huckel is a Public Policy major with minors in Social and Economic Justice and Women’s and Gender Studies. She was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, the coed service fraternity on campus, and served as the President this semester. While at UNC, she studied abroad in Washington DC with UNC public policy and was a policy analyst intern for the Autism Society of America. She plans to return to DC in the fall and work in policy, advocating for marginalized communities.

Ann Marie Ingram

Ann Marie Ingram: Ann Marie is a Political Science and Public Policy double major with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. During the summer between her junior and senior years, Ann Marie was a Moxie Scholar through the Carolina Women’s Center and interned with the ERA-NC Alliance. During the Spring 2020 semester, Ann Marie participated in the Honors Policy Seminar in DC and completed an internship with Congressman David Price. Ann Marie plans to return to DC to work on Capitol Hill alongside progressive policymakers advocating for progressive issues.

Rahul Jain

Rahul is a Public Policy and Information Science double major. He is from Huntersville, North Carolina. In his free time he enjoys playing and watching basketball, listening to hip hop and hanging out with friends.

Devon Johnson

Devon is from Asheville, NC. He majored in public policy with a concentration in social policy and inequality, and is double-majoring in sociology with a minor in Spanish for the legal professions. After graduation he’s taking a year or two to work and then hopes to attend law school.

Heather Johnson

Heather is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Political Science. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in immigration as a paralegal before going to graduate school.

William Blake Johnson

Blake is from Chapel Hill. He is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Business Journalism and a minor in Entrepreneurship. During his time at UNC, he has been heavily involved with the UNC Sports Clubs program. After graduation, he will be moving to New York City to begin his career in consulting.”

Katie Kelker has a second major in geography. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She will be moving to D.C. after graduation to work for the Department of Defense.

Elizabeth Kendrick

Elizabeth Kendrick is receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Public Policy with a minor in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. During her time at Carolina, she has been heavily involved in Student Government and served as the Undergraduate Vice President this year. After completing an internship with the North Carolina Policy Collaboratory this semester, she hopes to continue working on environmental policy in the future.

Nazneen Khan

Nazneen was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Cary, NC. She majored in Public Policy with a concentration in health policy and bioethics. In addition, she minored in Medical Anthropology to compliment her interest for the field of public health. While at UNC, Nazneen has been very involved in different organizations and services. One of many things she has accomplished while being here is conducting her own public health intervention in India, as a fellow for the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation. After graduation she hopes to continue in growing her passion and service to public health by pursing a career in such field. She would like to thank God, her family, and her friends for all of her success and support.

Clare Kilmartin is from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is graduating with a double major in Public Policy and Political Science. During her time at UNC, Clare interned in the U.S. Senate and in Governor Roy Cooper’s Office. After graduation, Clare hopes to return to the Hill and pursue a career in education policy.

During her time at UNC, she worked as a research assistant for the Preschool Literacy Project at the UNC School of Medicine and as a research assistant at the Center for Health Equity Research in the UNC School of Medicine. She also interned with the Southern Oral History Program in the UNC Center for the Study of the American South, and at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center for Saving and Making History. After graduating, she will continue working at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center because she is not yet ready to leave her friends in Chapel Hill and wants to pretend that she is still a student at Carolina.

Jackie Litynski completed a double major in Environmental Science – Quantitative Energy Systems Track and Public Policy at UNC. During this time, she was a starter and captain on UNC’s Division I Fencing team, winning the team ACC Championship event, placing second in the individual ACC Championship event, and competing at NCAA Championships throughout her career. Jackie was also an active member of APPLES Service-Learning and NCPIRG, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation she plans to pursue a career in clean energy policy.

Aklesia Maereg, a political science and public policy double major with a minor in African, African-American, and Diaspora studies, served as a resident advisor for three years and volunteered with the Community Empowerment Fund, a local non-profit serving members of the Chapel Hill and Carrboro community experiencing homelessness and poverty, during her time at UNC. She is looking forward to pursuing research on education and criminal justice policy after graduation and is looking to apply to grad school to obtain her Masters in Public Policy.

In her final year at Carolina, she obtained her North Carolina Real Estate Brokers License and started a company specializing in artistic, custom gifts and specialty items. Beginning this summer, she will also be working with a local company that trains creative entrepreneurs in making and marketing unique products and services.

Saradine Pierre is from Charlotte, North Carolina. She is graduating with a major in Public Policy and minors in Urban Planning and Portuguese. During her time at UNC, Saradine completed an internship at the Marian Cheek Jackson Center, a local non-profit that works to build community and preserve the history of historically Black neighborhoods in Chapel Hill. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in community development and affordable housing policy.

Minakshi majored in public policy with a concentration in health policy, bioethics, and human rights and minored in medical anthropology and chemistry. Minakshi is pursuing a career focused on the intersection between global health and human rights after graduation, and is currently in the process of applying to medical school.

Bonnie double-majored in public policy and sociology and minored in social and economic justice. She plans to attend law school in the future and pursue a career in education policy.

Anders Pokela

Anders Pokela is from Greensboro, NC and receiving a double major in Public Policy and Political Science as well as a minor in Environmental Science and Studies. During his time at Carolina, Anders was involved with the Club Running team, student government, and UNC Young Democrats. He also completed public policy internships with sustainability non-profits and a 2020 presidential campaign. While he is currently unemployed post-grad while writing this bio, he plans to attend law school and work in the political sphere.

Verenisse Ponce-Soria is a first-generation Mexican-American from rural Pikeville, North Carolina. In addition to her Public Policy major, she has a concentration in Education Policy and a minor in Education. She works as a Program Assistant for LatinxEd where she manages communication and research initiatives. After graduation she is heading to UC-Irvine to pursue her fully-funded Ph.D. in Education Policy.

Jane majored in Philosophy, Politics, & Economics in addition to Public Policy. While at UNC, she was very involved in the Undergraduate Student Government and with different educational nonprofits. In May, she’ll be moving to New Orleans, Louisiana, to begin a two-year commitment as a high school biology teacher with Teach for America before going to law school.

Morgan Waters studied Public Policy and Economics with a minor in Hispanic Studies. In her four years at Carolina, she participated in Club Field Hockey, where her and her team won the national championship in 2017. June Yom is a Global Studies and Public Policy major with a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). With her time at Carolina, June loved working with her peers, especially in her roles as a Resident Advisor at Granville Towers and the Cultural Chair for the Asian American Students Association (AASA). Most notably, she was also among the group of student helped found the first Asian American Center at Chapel Hill and was awarded the 2020 Intergroup Collaborative Diversity award by the UNC Office for Diversity and Inclusion. June will be pursing a Master in Public Policy at the University of Chicago hoping to focus her efforts on international development aid and policy.
