The Chancellor's Awards are the university's most distinguished campus-wide awards for graduating seniors (and in a few cases, juniors). This year, 17 of the most distinguished awards that are not restricted to particular majors, 5 were won by Public Policy majors! We are proud of all of our students and extend our special congratulations to the recipients of these awards!
The 2013 Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research is awarded to Professor Maryann Feldman, Heninger Distinguished Professor in the Department of Public Policy and Senior Fellow of the Kenan Institute for Private Enterprise. This is the leading international award in entrepreneurship research.
Dr. Sudhanshu Handa, Department Chair of the Public Policy Department, will be the featured speaker in an upcoming event hosted by the Center of Global Development. Dr. Handa will be presenting his research on whether the Government of Kenya's Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children reduces the risk of HIV among young people.
Public policy professors Daniel Gitterman and Benjamin Mason Meier were among this year's fellows joining UNC's Global Research Institute, a fellowship program bringing together experts from around the world to work with water experts at Carolina. Gitterman and Meier will work with fellows from around the world to spark new thinking and breakthroughs in water-related research.
